WHY TURQUOISE?

 

The color turquoise has always been an inspiration in my life — long before I even knew. I’m certain that turquoise isn’t just a coincidence — it found me.  One of the few, special things my mom kept from my grandfather was a ‘turquoise’ (color and name of) pencil box. She unintentionally came across this pencil box after I started my art business. I knew it had to be more than serendipity because this was the name I chose for my business since this color has always inspired me! My mom has passed the ‘turquoise’ pencil box down to me, and it assures me that I am on the right path.

 

Turquoise has become woven into the fabric of who I am and where my creativity stems from. Turquoise is the spark that leads me to valuing the myriad of colors in our world and my motivation to reach my highest creative potential. When I see this color, I feel inspired to create and bring my vision to life.

 

My life and art often blend together as I immerse myself in the moment - observing culture and capturing people in their natural environments and admiring landscapes, architecture and details of all sorts. Travel has enhanced my vision and ignited a passion for endless discovery.

 

My creative process is similar for photography and painting - I use light & color in photography to “paint” what I see. My paintings are watercolor or acrylic and my drawings are ink or pencil on canvas, hard board, and fine art paper. 

 

Throughout my career, I have enjoyed an array of photography from event, portrait and product to commercial, architecture and aviation. With each photoshoot, I enjoy the process from start to finish and am grateful to continue wonderful client relationships and always looking forward to each new project.

 

Whether I am walking through a vineyard at sunrise to capture the winemaking process, feeling the energy of the crowds as a music star sings their top hit, stepping onto a plane to showcase the beauty of flight, portraying a person’s essence and unique character through a portrait session, showcasing a company’s new products or capturing architectural & property beauty, I am always ready for the task at hand and grateful to have these opportunities to enhance the world with my creativity.
